Canada 150

L- What makes me proud to be Canadian, is how kind our country is. Our country is not racist, we are supportive of all peoples descitions, and we have maple syrup. I am so happy to be Canadian, and I am glad that I will stay that way.
Something that makes Canada unique, is that we are the second largest country in the world, and we have so many different provinces and territories. If you are Canadian, sometimes people don`t pronounce words the right way. For example, the way that you are sopoused to pronounce Toronto, is Tor-an-to, but the way that Canadians pronounce Toronto is Tor-ano. That is what makes Canada unique.
Some things that I wonder about Canada, is how long ago Canada was discovered (but 2000 years ago it was called New France). I want to know how long it took people in history to discover Canada (New France) I am proud to be Canadian.
A- For my research project, some questions that I have about Canada are...
- How many square feet is Canada?
- How many prime ministers has Canada had?
- Have prime ministers always been called prime ministers?
- Who was the first prime minister of Canada?
- Who was the longest lasting prime minister?
U- For this blog, I am interested in learning about the history of  hockey. I am interested in learning about this, because my family is a huge hockey fan, and I am interested in learning about how hockey was discovered.

Around the 1800's, hockey was invented by collage boys that went to Canada's first college, Kings collage school. Back then, hockey was called Hurley. When you think of hockey, the first thing that comes to mind is ice hockey. But believe it or not, the first type of hockey ever invented was field         hockey. This game was played on a grassy field with hooks instead of sticks. When people started to play Hurley on the ice, people decided that it would make more sense if we called it ice Hurley, so that people would not get mixed up with field Hurley, and ice Hurley, and over a period of decades, ice Hurley developed into ice hockey. The greatest hockey player to ever skate the ice was Wayne Gretzky. He started playing hockey at the age of 2, and by 1979, he played in the NHL. The best team to ever skate the ice, is the Montreal Canadians (unfortunately). The best player ever on their team is Maurice Richard. My favorite hockey team of all times is the Toronto Maple Leafs. The best player on their team is Austin Matthews. He is also my favorite player in the whole world. On his first NHL game ever, he scored a hat trick plus one goal, while they were playing against the Ottawa Senators. So that is what I found on the history of hockey
