Sunday Lunch

Over my March break, I had a sleepover with Giordanna. All that really happened that night was that we listened to songs from the musical Hamilton all night until we fell asleep. In the morning, her family invited me to go to their Sunday lunch with them. At first I was not sure if I wanted to go because it was her mom's birthday and I didn't want to be rude and intrude her mom's birthday. But the insisted that I go with them. It took me a while to decide if I wanted to go to Sunday lunch with them because I had a really hard time making up my mind and I still was not sure if I was going to intrude on her mom's birthday. After a while I made up my mind. I decided that I was going to go to Sunday lunch with them because I have never been to a Sunday lunch and I wanted to meet Giordanna's family and have some good food!!!

When we got to the Sunday lunch, everyone was really kind to me and everyone said hello. When the food was served, I was amazed. Who knew that Italians make such good food. We had pasta with a homemade sauce made from vegetables right out of the garden. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was homemade, just right and really fresh. After we were finished our lunch, we had birthday cake because it was Giordanna's mom's birthday. We sang happy birthday to her mom and then the cake was served. The cake was so good. It was a lemon cake and it was not to sour, not to tangy, and not to bland. The cake had lemon icing on the top and whip cream (i think) in between the layers of cake. The cake was amazing and it was so good!!!
After we had the pasta and the cake, we all went home with Giordanna's aunt. She was wondering what Hamilton is, so we explained and then we sang her the first song from the musical and made her aunt and her mom laugh. The experience of going to a Sunday lunch with a friend was really fun, awesome, and amazing. The food was really good, her family was really kind, and I had a lot of fun!!!
